The collection contains correspondence, reports, minutes, legislative testimony, vocational education statistics, notes and meeting materials. Much of the collection documents the coalition's efforts to ensure adequate funding and language within the Vocational Education Act, renamed the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Education Act in 1984 and the Carl D. Perkins Applied Technology Education Act in 1990, which funds secondary and post-secondary vocational education. The collection also contains records from the organizations it represents (American Home Economics Association, American Vocational Association and the Home Economics Education Association).
